Ideas are clear, original and focused. Main idea stands out along with details. 2.) Organization The organization of the writing helps create and develop the central theme of the story. Sequencing of ideas and sentences is logical and the transitions are smooth. 3.) Voice The voice is natural and engages the reader. 4.) Word choice Imagery is clear and strong use of verbs and adjectives. 5.) Sentence Fluency Writing has flow and rhythm. Each paragraph connects to the last. It should be like a river; it flows. 6.) Mechanics Correct grammar affects clarity and organization. Reading
